EHCW, is a community organization providing programs and services to girls and women facing violence in the GTA, through prevention, intervention, and program recovery, led by award winning Order of Vaughan Recipient Sunder Singh
At EHCW, women are taught life skills, along with counseling and educational support to helpthem rebuild their lives whether they are newcomers, or have lived here their entire life.
Domestic Violence amongst newcomers is the leading cause of injuries to women between theages of 15 to 44. A female is physically harmed every 15 seconds.
Human Trafficking is at an alarming all-time high in Canada, often targeting vulnerableinternational and local students.
EHCW works closely with local police services, providing workshops and information on anti-human trafficking, keeping potential victims safe and informed.
Youth and international students are equipped with resources to establish a network of support,safeguarding them against the risks and vulnerability of human trafficking.
EHCW is in urgent need of support for services and programming to assist the growing number of victims of human trafficking seeking refuge at the center. The center is also actively working to reduce the incidence of domestic violence, alleviate conditions of isolation and poverty among women and seniors, and connect those facing linguistic or cultural challenges to vital support programs.
